Awesome post ~ I'm guilty of most of the stuff you mentioned, LOL!

Seriously though - just last week my hair stylist and I were talking about weight loss, things to NOT eat or even cut back on and one of those she mentioned was foods/drinks that contained fructose corn syrup. I was floored! In a nutshell, this post by Dr. Daisy helped me to understand a few more important things as well, especially when it comes to the Holidays! ;-)

I am so excited to be visiting Angie's site! I love sharing health tips and those that are usually ones that we all know but just need reminding.

It's important to remember...everything in moderation...Rome was not built in a day and may have taken some time to develop the habits you now have..

Take your time and make the effort, like Bill said above..no excuses:)

Good Luck Everyone!!

Oh man, it's so hard over here in Austria! They make such good sweets and baked desserts here! Every year since being here I've put on weight during Advent. My wife (Austrian) makes great Vanillekipferl (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vanillekipferl)!

Things I'll do this year:

a) Work on quantity: don't take the whole big bowl of Kipferl with me to the couch! Get a portion and eat it and enjoy it and then go upstairs and do some work!

b) Exercise. Don't wait for the inevitable New Years Resolution about exercise -- tell myself "I will enjoy this wonderful holiday season even more if I don't feel bloated, fat and full all the time, so I want to burn some of this off." Then do it.

c) Cut out the excuses. "Well, it's only once per year..." etc. They're a form of lying to myself. That's bad.

d) Be accountable. Work on this together with the wife. "If you can't measure it, you can't manage it." --- check the scales during Advent.

Well, it's almost here. The Advent markets (the famous Christkindlmärkte) start opening up next week... Wish me luck.

Daisy, Great tips. Lately, I've been replacing my salty unhealthy snacks with nuts and am amazed at what a difference that makes. I feel better, get an energy boost, and don't eat early as many because they are more satisifying. Definitely a great tip. Looking forward to the rest of your blog tour!

Not getting the value meals at fast food restaurants has helped me a lot. I now usually get a kids meal and substitute the fries with something else, plus my kids love getting the extra toy.

I enjoyed reading your healthy eating tips for the holiday. It's nice to be reminded that adding a fruit or veggy (such as a salad) to any meal will add nutritional value.

Thank you for the easy to use and follow tips.
