The ViSalus Experience

Visalus products

I was given the opportunity to try a handful of ViSalus products.  ViSalus is a health and wellness company who live by this mission statement

To impact life, health and prosperity around the world.

I believe they are one of the leading health companies out there today.  I have come across many health companies and so far am most impressed all around with ViSalus.

The ViSalus Products

You all know how picky I am when it comes to protein powders so I was keeping my fingers crossed I would like the ViSalus protein powder.  I mixed up my 2 scoops with 8-12 oz of almond milk and went in for the taste.  I absolutely loved it.  It was so tasty. Score!

The biggest issue I have had in the past was protein powders/meal replacement shakes being really gritty and I did not experience that at all with ViSalus.  I put the soy protein powder in my Blender Bottle, added almond milk and shook it up well. You can also mix it with water.

Shape Up™ Health Flavor Mix-Ins

And they have packets of Shape Up Health Flavor Mix In’s (patent pending) to give some variety.

I love the Chocolate Cardia care mix-in, need I say more?  And I tried the Strawberry Phyto Power one which was good too.  Kev has tried all the others.  Those include the Peach Complexion and Orange Everyday Defense mix in’s and he enjoyed them.  I don’t usually care for anything fruity so I’m letting him review those.

He says the peach one was fine, to me it kind of smelled like an orangesicle.  And the orange mix in reminded him of a lemon pound cake.  Interesting!

The last one he tried was the Banana Energy Charge.  He sent me a text from work saying he liked that one. Here’s a little info on each one:

  1. Chocolate Cardia Care: For heart health benefits
  2. Banana Energy Charge: Get a natural energy burst
  3. Orange Everyday Defense: Nutritional support for a healthy immune system
  4. Peach Complexion Care: Nutritional benefits for healthy skin
  5. Strawberry Phyto Power: Has important phytonutrient benefits

After trying the mix in’s, I have come to the conclusion, I would rather just have the Vi-Shape Sweet Cream Flavor powder.Visalus mix ins

Oh and they have these awesome chocolate chip Nutra Cookies too! I have had them for snacks and they keep me full until dinner, not to mention they are also tasty.  Soft and no chalky taste either.  Another score!

ViSalus Nutra Cookie

Here’s what ViSalus says about them:

The Nutra Cookies come in 3 yummy flavors: chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin and peanut butter. I can wait to try the peanut butter.

Vi-Shape Nutritional Shake Mix

ViSalus seems like a great company with a great product. The ViSalus shakes are a meal supplement designed to help you lose weight, burn fat, gain more energy and support lean muscle. “The Shake Mix that tastes like cake mix” as they say has some great benefits.

  1. the laundry list of processed ingredients turned me off.

    • Sorry to hear that. I personally believe in all things in moderation but understand and respect your input. Thanks for commenting.

  2. I’m a wanna be vegetarian, and I wonder sometimes if I get enough protein. I’ve tried a couple of powders that my husband brought home, but, yuck! Might have to give this one a try though. Thanks!

    • Will you give up fish as well? That is how I still get my protein but believe it or not there is plenty out there for vegetarians to get enough protein. I was so worried at first which is why I still do fish but I’m confident that if I ever give up fish, I would be fine.

I’m so picky about powders and was concerned that the soy would be different since I’m so used to whey but it’s just fine. Let me know if you decide to give it a try.

  3. Will have to check this one out. Thanks.

  4. I’m really excited to hear about how much you liked their products. I’m super picky about protein powders as well. It’s nice to see that they are gluten free and low carb. I might just have to give them a try. Thanks for doing this review Angie!!

  5. Protein powders are hard for me. I haven’t found one that I like since starting the process of removing all dairy from my diet. This may be a good candidate. Mouth feel is important. It’s nice to hear that there is no “gritty” feel. What about chalky? Did you try any with just water yet?

  6. This is a very interesting review Angie! Actually, I do workouts every day and I usually maintain a healthy diet but still unsatisfied with the results. I guess I will try these products especially the ViSalus shakes. Thanks for sharing!

  7. Hi Angie:

Do you know if any of the shakes are sugar free? My neighbor is undergoing radiation and chemo treatments and is on a very limited diet. Protein shakes are great for her because they’re quick and nutritious. However, she has to stay away from those with sugar. I’d love to get her some to try if they are sugar free!

    • Michele, on the bag it says <1 G sugars per serving. You would have to talk with him directly to get more specific info. Hope this helps!
