Hi! I’m Angie Newton, the owner of Losing It and Loving It. Feel free to get to know me better by reading my weight loss success story. I started this new blog to share my personal weight loss challenges and triumphs, favorite weight loss and fitness products, recipes and tips for healthy weight loss and living a healthy lifestyle with others who also want to change their lifestyle, lose weight, become more active and eat healthier.
I would like to see this blog grow into something that will inspire and help others by knowing they are not alone and also that it is possible to change your lifestyle one step at a time without having to buy into any programs, pills or potions. If you have any suggestions on what you would like to see here on my blog, please contact me to let me know.
I decided to change my lifestyle for good in August 2005 and since then have had challenges but also many successes. I have been supporting others in various online communities, via podcasts and online radio shows.
Thank you for taking time out of your day to visit and get to know me better.
Angie

Angie,
You are an inspiration to me. I have to recently decided to take my life into my own hands and improve my health. I’ve started walking again at least 3 days a week for now either outside or on the treadmill. I am currently 215 pounds and aiming for 150. I’ve had five kids and I’m tired of using that as an excuse to be fat! See you on the skinny side!
Jenifer,
I feel your pain. I am also 215 and have three children… I turned 50 last year and have decided it is time to stop messing around and get it off…also my 14 year old daughter is overweight as well. We purchased an exercise bike and are trying that route to start…noticed this post was from may 2009…how are you doing…did you reach the skinny side?
Jenifer,
Thank you so much for your kind words. My goal is to inspire others and to show they are not alone. It’s not always easy to change your lifestyle but it’s worth it.
So glad to hear you started walking again and I’ll definitely see you on the skinny side. Let me know if there is anything I can help you with.
It’s time for me to kick it up a notch again so I need to pay more attention to portion control, water intake and most important exercise and healthy food choices.
i just want to ask a question,I exercise 20 minutes a day is that enough to loose weight.
Keshia,
20 minutes is a great start but personally I don’t think it’s enough to lose weight, not for me anyway. It all depends on activity, food/portion control and types of foods eaten.
Congratulations on your blog. I’m sure it will inspire those who are not sure where to start on losing weight. I have just published and article on losing weight the healthy way and the importance of fiber which is sadly missing in many modern diets and is a vital ingredient in healthy weight loss, detoxing your body and having a strong immune system.
You look wonderful. Congratulations on your transformation! You are an inspiration!!!
Wanted to see before and after pics but wasnt able to figure any place out on the site to do that…am I missing something? I sent you an email…let me know if you get it.
Cheryl,
I got you email and replied! Thank you. As for the before pics up to current I thought I had the page on my main website and went to check and things need updating. I have some tech issue I need to figure out and then I’ll post once I update. Thanks for asking or I would have not remembered.
What an inspiration you are! I celebrate your weight loss with you, Angie. Thank you for sharing your story.
Best, Karly
