Personal Goals for March and Workouts

My personal goals for healthy eating and exercise for the month of March are as follows:

*Eat dessert only 3x a week (all other days will either be hot tea, fruit/yogurt or a piece of gum).  As for dessert days I am going to try to also choose healthier options.

*In addition to my 5 days a week of exercise goal I need to make sure I’m doing at least 2 days strength/core work.

I ordered some new Walk Away the Pounds DVD’s and they should arrive tomorrow.  The easier of the three will go to my mom for a belated Christmas gift LOL and the other two are FIVE miles each.  I’m excited to see if I can accomplish those.  I have also won a lot of workout DVD’s recently so I have to get moving on trying those out too.  As much as I really enjoy working out at the gym, in-home workouts are my favorite!  Mom and Dad are buying me a set of rebounding workout DVD’s for my b-day coming up April 1st so I’m totally excited for that.  I have tons of product reviews to get going on my website.  I’ll be sure to post as they go up.

Oh and be on the lookout this week, I have a cool product review coming and a giveaway.

Make it a great week and Happy March!

New Year’s Resolutions 2009

It’s time to share my New Year’s Resolutions for 2009.  I have been going over my weight loss and fitness goals for 2009 the past few days and would like to share.

I would like to lose 50 lbs this year.  My short term goal for that would be to lose at least 4 lbs every month which is the healthy way to go.  I had lost over 80 lbs since 2005 when I first started my new lifestyle but gained back 30+ pounds.  Yesterday I posted about my recent weight loss struggles.

I’m not going to dwell on the past.  It’s a NEW YEAR and I’m ready to go.

My plan is to hit the gym on T/W/Th/Sa/Su with my wonderful hubby.  Madelyn Fernstrom from ivillage health says you should have a ‘diet buddy’ and I agree.  The support I get from Kev when we are on the Elliptical and in Spin class keeps me going.  He always pushes me to do better and says kind words along the way.  Everyone should find a ‘diet buddy’.

T/W/Th-cardio
Sa/Su- Spin class and weights

Monday and Friday will be a rest and recover day off from the gym but I will do some form of activity whether it be in-home workouts, Stability Ball work, etc.

I will keep track of my water intake and I’m pretty sure I’m going back to keeping a food journal.  I may skip counting calories in the beginning to see if I can manage with just staying accountable to what I eat.

I will weigh in every Monday and post my results on Wednesday.

I will take measurements and photo updates every month and post those to the blog.

A few other goals I have for myself are to follow a few online challenges, sell or donate my ‘big’ clothes that are taking space in my closet and I would like to fit into a few pairs of pants/jeans and tank tops that are waiting for me!

I’m keeping this short because I don’t want to overwhelm myself at the beginning.

Here is a Resolutions vs. Goals post that my friend Roni made on Jan. 1st 2008.  I had the great pleasure of meeting Roni this past year in Chicago and she is a TRUE inspiration.

Have you posted your weight loss/fitness goals for 2009? If so, please feel free to share your link so we can all support one another.  May 2009 be YOUR BEST YEAR YET!

Goal Call Monday: October 27

It’s time to plan your weight loss and fitness goals for the week.

My goal for this week is to workout at least 3x, drink 8-12 glasses of water a day and keep writing in my food journal (more focus on portion control).

I have to do this all during the week because we have other obligations over the weekend and won’t be able to make it to the gym.  Phooey!

I hope that this is the last week I have to nurse the knee.  This pain is really quite annoying but I’m hoping for the best.

What are your personal weight loss and fitness goals for the week?

Goal Call Monday: October 20

This week I’m still nursing the knee however I do hope to get to the gym.

My goal is to work out at least 3x and do upper body weights 2x

Still keeping a food journal and I’m going to try to eat 100 calories less three days this week.

What goals have you set for yourself this week?

Goal Call Monday: October 13

This week will be different since I can’t do much until Saturday and that is only if my knee is totally ready.

I will do 3 days of upper body strength/weights

Exciting!  But that’s all I can do per doc’s orders.

In addition, I will keep a close eye on my water intake, 10-12 glasses a day, keep up with my food journal and choose healthy food options.

What are your goals for the week?

Goal Call Monday: October 6

I’m going to go ahead and keep the same goals as last week.

At least 4 days of exercise (cardio and strength/weights)
50 Ab Coaster reps every time I go to gym
8-10 glasses of water a day

I didn’t take measurements or pictures last week so hopefully I’ll get myself together this week and take care of that.

Did you set any healthy/weight loss/fitness goals for this week?  Please share
