Weekly Weigh In: November 19

I have definitely been more active over the last week, slowly getting myself back into it so I don’t overdo it BUT I didn’t gain or lose so everything is the same as last week.  I know that I can do this but I have just been out of sorts lately and hope to snap out of it very soon.

Healthy Homemade Bread

National Homemade Bread Day was this past Monday, November 17th so I wanted to share that I made some healthy homemade bread in my new Oster breadmaker. Dad and mom sent me an early Christmas gift and I went to town making some yummy homemade bread. I followed the recipe for the 100% Whole Wheat Bread provided in the Oster user manual which also comes with a wide variety of other fun recipes that I look forward to trying.

I really enjoyed using the Oster ExpressBake Breadmaker! Here’s what it looks like (image from Amazon).

Oster ExpressBake Breadmaker

I’ll be doing a full review on this breadmaker once I have a chance to use it more but for now I’ll leave you with pictures of the bread I made.

100% Whole Wheat Bread

The top of the bread turned out quite funky but it sure tasted really good. Mission accomplished! Not quite sure what bread I’ll make next but I think I’ll try my hand at the Italian Herb bread recipe that is also in the manual. I imagine Kevin (my hubby) and my stepson would enjoy that since they liked the whole wheat bread. Maybe for Thanksgiving next week, we shall see!

Do you have a breadmaker? If so, what are your favorite types of bread to make. Please feel free to share recipes.

Exercise Workout Schedule

Time for Friday Fit & Healthy Lifestyle Tips

Today’s Tip: Plan your exercise workout schedule

It’s time to make an exercise workout schedule that you can follow on a consistent basis.  As long as you have somewhat of a plan, you’re more likely to stick to it and make it part of your lifestyle.  What will your daily routine consist of?  What days do you plan to go to the gym, do in-home or outdoor workouts?  Will you do upper body on Monday and Wednesday, lower body Tuesday and Thursday and cardio every day?  What fitness classes will you add to your schedule?  How long will each workout session last?

It’s important that you have an exercise workout schedule but it’s also OK to change it up often too so you don’t get bored.  Be sure to schedule in your daily exercise as you would any other commitment.  I am personally in the process of setting up a new schedule for myself and would be very interested to hear about your weekly exercise workout schedule and what all it entails.

What does your weekly workout calendar look like?

Weekly Weigh In: November 12

Once again, I haven’t weighed in for a few weeks and I have gained yikes. I most definitely have had some major challenges as far as weight loss and fitness goes BUT I am getting back into the swing of it all so that is a plus. I look forward to going back to spin class this weekend and getting back into a consistent workout and gym schedule. We don’t have too long until we leave for Jamaica so we’ll see what I can do in less than a month.

Quaker Blogger Weekend Meet Up

What a fantastic time! Quite a few weight loss/fitness, healthy lifestyle and food bloggers were in town for a Quaker sponsored weekend and many blog readers like myself were able to meet up with them.

Friday night I had the pleasure of meeting two of my favorite foodie bloggers, Kath (Kath Eats) and Jenna (Eat Live Run). I was so excited to meet in person the two ladies who have really inspired me to eat better over the last few months. These ladies are both going to get a separate spotlight review here on my blog because they are ALL THAT! Thanks to my hubby, Kevin we were able to drive into the city Friday night to meet up with them at Bin 36. It was fun. Thanks Kath and Jenna for making time to meet up with your fans *wink*

My new blogger and real life friend Linda (Fat Don’t Wrinkle) arrived into town Saturday evening and Kev and I took her out to dinner once she settled in to her hotel. I’m so glad Linda decided to jump at the chance to experience a blogger meet up. I have met many online friends over the years and it has always been a great time so I wanted Linda to experience that as well.

Of course, I totally forgot to order the book Half-Assed: A Weight-Loss Memoir by Jennette Fulda to get a copy signed while she was in town for the Quaker weekend so we drove all over town to find a 2nd copy. Thankfully Borders had ONE copy and I let Linda have that one but I was not so lucky Saturday night. However Kev was able to purchase the only copy left at the Barnes & Noble, Chicago. Thank you dear hubby for braving the cold and windy city to make sure I got my copy. You rock!

Sunday morning we met more cool bloggers at Panera. Had a blast and took many pictures (link to follow). Here is a list of the fantastic bloggers I had the opportunity to meet.

Roni (Roni’s Weigh, Green Lite Bites, Blog to Lose)

Carla aka MizFit (Miz Fit Online)

Jennette (Pasta Queen, author of Half-Assed: A Weight-Loss Memoir)

Tanya (I Ate A Pie)

Lisa (Workout Mommy)

and

Stephanie (Back in Skinny Jeans)

All of these women are AMAZING and I wish I had time to talk to each of them longer. Hope to meet up with them at another time.

A few other blog readers joined in on the fun and I’m looking forward to getting to know them better as well. Not all of them have a blog but some do. Shouting out hello to Sarah, Madison (Follow My Weigh), Melissa (Tales of a Disordered Eater), Mama Vision and the other ladies at the table that I didn’t get the chance to really meet.

Here are some pictures from the blogger weekend meet up. I’ll add more soon. Enjoy!
