Menu Plan Monday: January 19th

It’s time for Menu Plan Monday.  I just put together the potential meal plan for the week.  As usual, we play it by ear as to what we feel like having but most times follow the plan.  Last week we did not stay on plan as we were so busy with buying two ‘new’ trucks.  It was back and forth to the dealership so we moved meals all around and ate out quite a bit.

Monday-
Mahi Mahi/Salmon w/potato and roasted brussel sprouts

Tuesday-
Turkey Burgers, sweet potato fries and veggie

Wednesday-
Jamaican Jerk pork chops w/asparagus

Thursday-
Spaghetti w/hubby’s homemade sauce (turkey sausage, veggies, etc) and biscuits

Friday-
Chicken w/red beans and rice

What is on your menu plan this week?

Super Saturday and Sunday

Last I checked in was on Thursday so here is an update on the past few days (Friday was my day off from exercise).  This weekend was good.  Had to make yet another run to the car dealership because they couldn’t find the 2nd key to Kev’s ‘new’ Dodge Nitro and had to get into service for them to rekey and give us two new ones.  After that we ran some errands one of which was a stop at The Fresh Market and Trader Joe’s. Love those two stores.  Got lots of yummy goodies at both.

What healthy food stores do you have near you and do you shop there?

Our weekend workouts were pretty good.  We didn’t do weights though.

Exciting and busy week

This week has been busy and exciting.  As you know, I got a new car and we have been keeping busy going back and forth to the dealership.  Had to take my car back for trade in, then we went back with the check and then get this….hubs traded in his Jeep for the same year Dodge Nitro as mine, just in silver.  We have one last trip back there tonight and we’ll be done.  It’s hilarious to look at our driveway with two of the same SUV in there.  BUT even though it sounds crazy, it was a great decision.  My car would have needed some work and his Jeep almost hit 100,000 miles PLUS in the last month he has had to have some things fixed on it and didn’t want to chance any more issues.  So now we are paying LESS than what we would’ve been if he kept the Jeep.  Nice!

So needless to say, I have not made it to the gym this week BUT I have exercised at home.  Here are my workouts so far.

Stats:

Monday-

Day Off

Tuesday-

Walk Away the Pounds 3 mile Weight Loss Walk

Distance: 3 miles
Time: 48:00
Calories burned: 502

Wednesday-

Walk Away the Pounds 2 mile Walk Slim

Thursday-

Walk Away the Pounds Walk Slim Fast Firming (workout with stretch band)

I’m feeling good!  It’s so very cold here in IL so I’m staying warm until hubs gets home and then we’ll hit the road to finish up car stuff.

Happy Thursday!

Weekly Weigh In: January 14th

Here is my weekly weigh in.  I’m down another 3 pounds.  So excited.

Current Weight: 211
Goal Weight: 135-140
Pounds left to go: 70+

How did  you do this week?

Checking In

It’s been a few days since I checked in but I do have a good reason that I’ll tell you about later in this post.  But first here are some workout updates.

Friday 1/9- 1 hr swimming

Our neighbor is housesitting and invited us over for dinner and to swim in the INDOOR pool at this 9,000 square foot house. It was massive and so cool.  The pool was a blast and I’m sure I burned a ton of calories doing laps and playing around doing handstands, flips in the water, etc.  Something different, loved it!

Saturday 1/10- played hookie from the gym

We skipped spin class and weights due to the early morning bad weather and I didn’t even work out at home.  Naughty me!  We lounged around all day until I hopped on the computer to take a peek at possible new cars for me.  I didn’t think I would be getting one so soon but we found one that hubby just had to check out so we called about it and braved the snow to go for a test drive.  I didn’t think we would leave with it but the offer was great and they gave us a trade in deal for my car sight unseen (except we did bring pictures).  My old car is a 1998 Chevy Cavalier with under 77,000 miles but needed new tires and a few other things plus I really needed 4wd to get around in the winter season.

I won’t make you wait any longer.  I just traded in this car

for this Dodge Nitro

I love it!

OK, on to Sunday. We made it to the gym for Spin class.

Sunday 1/11-

Stats:

Spin Class (Interval)

Time: 50:00
Calories burned: 692

I got overheated in class and was very queasy afterwards so we decided to skip weights.

And now it’s Monday, my day off from exercise and I weighed in for a challenge I’m doing so I’ll let you know early that I lost 3 pounds since my weigh in last Wednesday.  Very happy about that.

Make it a great week!
