My Vertical Knee Raise Challenge

August 8th, 2010 · Daily Exercise Log, My Personal Goals

So my new trainer had me try out this new (to me) piece of gym equipment where you can do a variety of things but he tried to get me to do vertical knee raises and I completely failed LOL  I have now challenged myself to be able to accomplish this task by the end of September.  It is so hard because I have hardly any really good upper body strength.  Hubby can hop on it and go to town and not only do knee lifts but leg lifts too.  I have a really long way to go!  Have you ever seen this vertical knee raise machine?

I have tried it a few times now and just have to laugh every time because I really do look like a total fool on it HA HA!  It’s going to be a major challenge.  Please send good thoughts my way because I’ll really need them LOL

Planning a Picnic Cookout Menu

August 6th, 2010 · Healthy Meal Plan/Menu Plan Monday

Summer in many places will be coming to an end before we know it and for most  it will be time to pack up the picnic baskets and grills until next season.  You still have some time so lets look at some options for planning a picnic cookout menu.   Hubby and I love to grill all year round even in the snow so all these ideas are perfect for us.  Please welcome this guest post/news release by Pirate Brands (one of my favorite companies!)

Weigh In On Negative Self Talk

August 4th, 2010 · Weight Loss Motivation

Yesterday was a very happy day. Not only was August 3rd my momma’s birthday but it was a big day for my online friend Caitlin of Operation Beautiful and Healthy Tipping Point. Her Operation Beautiful book was released and tomorrow Thursday, August 5th she will be on the Today Show at 8:30 AM to talk about it.  Set your DVR to record this momentous occasion!  I have a review copy of the book coming so I’ll be doing a write up about it once I have a chance to take a peek! But for now this Amazon video will tell you a bit about the book.

So this week is all about Change The Way You See, Not The Way You Look and you can find a ton of bloggers and other writers sharing their posts here.

Today I want to weigh in on negative self talk when it comes to the big bad scale!

Happy August

August 1st, 2010 · Daily Exercise Log

HAPPY AUGUST

This week was OK but I took a few days (too many!) off. I was just plain exhausted from travel the week before.  Hoping for a better week and I would like to push it a bit more in Aug. even though I have another business trip coming up.  I am pretty bummed though because my primary trainer, Karen is moving.  She really is an amazing trainer so anyone who trains with her in the future is VERY lucky.

I chose to stick with my secondary trainer, Scott because he is also a really good trainer, just in a totally different way.  We did discuss what I loved so much about Karen and he’s willing to work with me doing some of the things that I really enjoy.  I explained to him that the biggest thing for me  is changing my workouts up on a consistent basis. I cannot do the same things over and over or I totally get bored.  I’m sure everything will be great!

Here are my workouts for the week:

It’s the thought that counts…

July 31st, 2010 · Product Reviews

I was invited to take part in ProFlowers review and was able to choose which item I wanted to try from a list they provided. I thought the Organic Fruit Sampler would be the perfect fit for my blog here so I went with that.  I was very excited to do this because I have done business with the Pro Flowers company for quite some time.  Between my mom and dad they have received quite a few gifts like the cherries, fruit samplers and flowers and from their feedback the service and product has always been great.
