May 2011 Goals

Grand Daughter of Winston Churchill, Arabella Spencer Churchill, Jouncing on Bathroom Scale

Weighed in at the gym yesterday (Saturday April 30th) and in the last 2 weeks I have lost 6 lbs.  I forgot to check in last week and hopefully I’ll remember to do it every week now.  I am not stressing over the pounds but I do have a goal to be at my goal weight by April 2012.  Currently I weigh 259 and my goal weight is 175 so I have 84 lbs that I am looking to lose.  I’ll be using the scale at the gym so that it stays consistent.  The reason I’m posting this is for accountability. I really need the push to get back on track in a major way!  That’s all!

April Goals

It’s my birthday!

My Happy Place

Don’t just count your years, make your years count. Ernest Meyers

Before I get to my April goals, I wanted to give you the final update on the 2 goals I set for the 48 Days to a Better Me challenge.  You might recall that one of the goals was a bit silly but I wanted to learn how to put on eyeliner  and although I waited until this past Tuesday to do it, I got it done.  I went to Sephora and the gal was awesome.  I will definitely have to work on the technique for a while but I was thankful she showed me how to do it.  Time to watch some You Tube videos on eye makeup application and hopefully one day feel comfortable doing it.

The 2nd goal was to come up with my workout plan for after my personal training sessions end.  I have come across a lot of great ideas but have not put together a solid plan for strength/weight training.   If you know of any great plans please feel free to post links to them here.  I am looking for a 3 day a week plan, a mix of upper body, lower body and core work.

Here are some of the great ones I have come across so far:

Low Key Week

You Are Strong

Just a little Operation Beautiful love for you!

This past week I only exercised one day (knee issues and also had what felt like a pulled muscle across the chest).  I wrote about it in my Sunday mailing that most of you receive (if you don’t you can sign up using the box over on the right side of the blog).  Saturday spin class was all I did this week and it was tough.  The spin bikes at the new gym really need updating.  They are horrible and very few can you do standing runs and climbs.  The pedals snap and jerk your knees.  Guess spin is not going to be something in the cards for us like it used to be. We’ll keep going on Saturday’s but I think that’s it unless of course they buy new bikes which I don’t see happening.  Total bummer!

48 Days To A Better Me

It’s fitting that the 48 Days To a Better Me starts today AND it’s Feb. 14th, Valentine’s Day.  I went over and over various things that I could do but decided on just two thing that will help improve my life in the next 48 days.  I shared these two goals on the 48 Days To a Better Me podcast where you can also here a bit about my story and how I have improved my life over  the last 6 years.  Learn about my #1 obstacle, why I don’t focus on the scale and the thing that has changed the most with me over the last six years.  I had a great chat with Kelly and Tishia.

Below are the two goals I will focus on for the next 48 days.

2011 Year of No Resolutions

Happy New Year, Red and Gold

So it’s been a while since I posted. Sorry to leave you hanging. Things have been crazy busy both business and personally.   I know I owe you all a recap of half marathon memories (if I can remember now LOL) plus I have lots of goodies I want to share with you this year.  Oh and our vacation to Jamaica was great, once again.  We love it there if you couldn’t tell!

As for goals for 2011, I honestly haven’t had time to sit down and plan anything out.  I know that I want the normal goals to lose weight, watch my portions, etc. BUT mostly I want to have fun, help others and live in the moment. I’m thankful for so many things!

New Year’s Resolutions 2009

It’s time to share my New Year’s Resolutions for 2009.  I have been going over my weight loss and fitness goals for 2009 the past few days and would like to share.

I would like to lose 50 lbs this year.  My short term goal for that would be to lose at least 4 lbs every month which is the healthy way to go.  I had lost over 80 lbs since 2005 when I first started my new lifestyle but gained back 30+ pounds.  Yesterday I posted about my recent weight loss struggles.

I’m not going to dwell on the past.  It’s a NEW YEAR and I’m ready to go.

My plan is to hit the gym on T/W/Th/Sa/Su with my wonderful hubby.  Madelyn Fernstrom from ivillage health says you should have a ‘diet buddy’ and I agree.  The support I get from Kev when we are on the Elliptical and in Spin class keeps me going.  He always pushes me to do better and says kind words along the way.  Everyone should find a ‘diet buddy’.

T/W/Th-cardio
Sa/Su- Spin class and weights

Monday and Friday will be a rest and recover day off from the gym but I will do some form of activity whether it be in-home workouts, Stability Ball work, etc.

I will keep track of my water intake and I’m pretty sure I’m going back to keeping a food journal.  I may skip counting calories in the beginning to see if I can manage with just staying accountable to what I eat.

I will weigh in every Monday and post my results on Wednesday.

I will take measurements and photo updates every month and post those to the blog.

A few other goals I have for myself are to follow a few online challenges, sell or donate my ‘big’ clothes that are taking space in my closet and I would like to fit into a few pairs of pants/jeans and tank tops that are waiting for me!

I’m keeping this short because I don’t want to overwhelm myself at the beginning.

Here is a Resolutions vs. Goals post that my friend Roni made on Jan. 1st 2008.  I had the great pleasure of meeting Roni this past year in Chicago and she is a TRUE inspiration.

Have you posted your weight loss/fitness goals for 2009? If so, please feel free to share your link so we can all support one another.  May 2009 be YOUR BEST YEAR YET!
