Fitness center re-opened and workouts

This past week was another take it easy week for me.  I am happy to say I am doing a lot better (minus the numbness in my arm) AND we went back to spin today and it was great.  Only 4 of us in class but it was a good ride.  There is a holiday class tomorrow morning so we’ll get up bright and early and do a  morning class.  It’s nice to have the gym open again after 2 weeks but I’ll be honest I got a lot done and was able to rest in that time so I didn’t totally miss it ha ha!

Relaxing Week and Workouts

As you’ll notice, this week was another take it easy week.  I had to make sure to take it easy and I think it was totally worth it.  I am not in nearly as much pain as I was from the pinched nerve however I still get numbness in my right arm which is a royal pain but I think it’s getting better.  Keep your fingers crossed!  I’m going to try to add in more workouts this week to see how it goes.  Our fitness center is due to open back up on Sunday May 24th so we’ll go back to spin class that day.  Here are my workouts for the week.

Thursday through Sunday-

No Workouts! (I am taking 4 ful days off from any exercise to see if the pinched nerve will go away).

If the pinched nerve doesn’t go away by next week, I’ll most likely try a chiropractor or the home neck traction device that has been recommended to me.  The pain and numbness is really hard to deal with so I’m just trying to keep busy although I probably shouldn’t be on the computer LOL

Gym closing and workouts this week

Just found out this morning on our way in to spin class that the fitness center we attend is closing for 2 weeks to do maintenance like work on the water system, paint, etc.  Hopefully there is some new updated equipment when we return too LOL  I’m a bit irritated because they gave us less than 2 weeks notice, not that it would have really made a difference though and they just charged for May but say we’ll get a credit in June hmmmm and we will miss a total of NINE spin classes.  We will have to make up for that.

I am going to call to see if we can possibly get a 2 week pass for another fitness center close by or see if we can just attend their spin classes.  It’s just annoying and I hope they are not playing around and doing something else like closing for good because that would stink.  Off to call the other gym but first I’ll tell ya about my workouts this week.

First, thanks for the good thoughts about my pinched nerve.  It has really put a damper on things but I’m trying to stay positive and just push through some workouts.  It hurts but boy do I want to get back to my routine and I’m excited to try the 30 Day Shred.  Soon!

Pinched nerve and workouts

Another trying week but I’m making it through.  I have never had a pinched nerve and it’s not something I would wish on anyone.  And well, I was starting to feel a tiny bit better and had a good spin class yesterday (my stepson and his girlfriend joined us) but then we went to Brunswick Zone XL for some good fun (cosmic bowling, games and more!), I over did it.  Oh well, it was a fun double date and I’m hoping by the end of this week my neck, shoulder and arm will be better. We’ll see….

So needless to say Kev and I aren’t starting Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred yet. I think we’ll definitely start next week though.

A trying week and workouts

This week was definitely not my week.  I hurt my neck and the pain is horrible.  I am on day 5 and it seems to be getting a bit better.  I pushed through two days of spin and not quite sure it was the smart thing to do but I did it anyway.  Tomorrow I am skipping spin class but I am going to try to do an in-home walking workout if I am feeling better or I might just take the day off.

Hubby’s b-day was yesterday and we had fun at spin, shopping and he made awesome bison burgers from Whole Foods for dinner.  So yummy!  Have you ever had bison meat?  He had a good birthday and thanks to those of you who sent notes to him for a happy b-day.

Some of my food choices this weekend were BAD.  I was disappointed that I didn’t have the willpower to stop when I was full.  Gosh it’s a challenge to make wise food choices sometimes.  I keep working at it even 4 years later.
