Staying fit and healthy is important and something you should also try to do. Whether you’re working on losing weight or you want to keep it off and maintain a healthy weight exercise is a must. Having active children can cause you to not exercise as often as you would like, but when you schedule it into your day and include the entire family it will happen.
When your children are athletic or enjoy participating in extracurricular activities you may find exercising is almost impossible at times. Our boys enjoy playing football, basketball, and track which means we’re busy from August to June each year. That only gives us two months a year to truly do what we want. To deal with that problem we’ve incorporated a family workout plan.
Our plan includes family activities we all enjoy doing. This helps us to have the desire to exercise. We enjoy walking together so we walk a trail that’s near our home. It’s approximately 2 ½ miles one way so we walk approximately 5 miles a day. We also enjoy hiking so we do that on the weekends we go to the mountain. There are several trails we can walk and there are also areas we can go that are close to our camp spot, but not so far that we’ll get lost and won’t be able to make it back.
There are many other ways you can stay fit and do it as a family. These might include bike riding, exercising at the gym, going swimming, or if your children are small you can run around the front yard together. You’ll need to take your family into consideration when deciding on what you can do to stay fit.
When it comes to staying fit when you have a family you must do what works for you and what you enjoy. When you find what works for your family you’ll have the energy and the ambition it will take to do it several times a week. You’ll stay fit, you’ll feel better, and you’ll have more energy to do the things you want to do and you’ll have what you need to keep up with your children.
